WELCOME

Meuers Law Firm, P.L. was founded in 1989 by Lawrence H. Meuers and is based in Naples, Florida.  Born and raised in Minnesota, Larry Meuers’ early experiences running the family-owned produce business soon caused him to realize the crucial need for a law firm established primarily to advise and represent the produce industry.  From its inception, the firm has been built upon the philosophy that legal services could be structured to solve the industry’s problems resourcefully by using cost effective and innovative solutions.

WHO we are . . .

Meuers Law Firm is counsel to the produce industry, advising producers and distributors of fresh fruits and vegetables in all aspects of operation, including the resolution of commercial disputes, regulatory compliance, drafting of contracts, corporate sales and acquisitions, and general business law.  We have a combined 25 years of experience as a proven, national leader in providing legal services to the fresh and frozen produce industry.  We are proud to represent both domestic and international clientele, ranging from small start-ups and mid-sized companies to large multinational corporations.  With a fourth-generation produce industry background, we have built our law practice on longstanding relationships with a true understanding of the demands placed on our clients in handling and distributing highly perishable agricultural commodities.  We use this knowledge to ensure that each client’s needs are handled with individuality and competence beyond a purely legal perspective.

WHAT we do . . .

We at Meuers Law Firm, extend to our clients an exclusive expertise in the practice areas of trust enforcement litigation under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (“PACA”), business litigation, business and corporate law, administrative actions before the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and appeals before the federal courts.  Our attorneys regularly counsel clients in matters pertaining to state and PACA regulatory issues, working closely with them to structure cost effective and creative solutions to the complex legal and financial issues facing produce companies every day.  Our focus is to provide our clients realistic and practical advice in these areas.  The Firm asserts a leadership role before legislative and regulatory bodies in interpreting the law and advocating for our clients in a manner most favorable to them.  In adversarial proceedings, we provide zealous representation, coupled with creative thinking, to achieve favorable results while, at the same time, maintaining the highest standard of ethical and personal integrity.

To date, Meuers Law Firm has recovered an estimated $75,000,000.00 for our clients, achieving an overall 70% rate of recovery.  We have successfully represented our clients’ interests in some of the largest and most complicated cases in the produce industry’s history, and have been instrumental in crafting legislation and court rulings that will continue to serve our clients’ best interests for years to come.  Our skills and experience have consistently resulted in the recovery of literally millions of dollars while minimizing damages, all to the benefit of our clients.
